About other boron nitride brands
Hexagonal Boron Nitride (h-BN) has a hardness of about 4, making it a machinable material. HBN/HBR originally referred to product codes for other manufacturers and denoted boric oxide or calcium-enhanced boron nitride materials, respectively. QSAM also provides calcium borate-enhanced boron nitride rods with similar performance to HBN and HBR. While calcium (or zirconium) enhanced HBR (or ZSBN) is the most common composite boron nitride material, we also produce a range of other composite boron nitrides, such as AlN-BN and SiC-BN.
