About Copper Sulfide
Copper sulfide (Cu2S) is a p-type semiconductor material with a direct bandgap that makes it suitable for use in photovoltaic and optoelectronic applications. It can be deposited as thin films using techniques like chemical bath deposition, sputtering, or thermal evaporation, allowing for its integration into device structures. Cu2S has a high optical absorption coefficient and can be used as an absorber layer in thin-film solar cells, particularly in combination with other materials like cadmium sulfide (CdS) or indium sulfide (In2S3). The materials relatively low cost and scalable deposition methods have contributed to ongoing research and development efforts aimed at improving the efficiency and stability of Cu2S-based solar cells and other optoelectronic devices.;
