Rare Earth Elements
Rare earth elements, constitute a unique group in the periodic table (lanthanides) and Y and Sc. Furthermore, lanthanide elements are crucial in healthcare. They are used in diagnostic imaging techniques, such as MRI and X-ray contrast agents, as well as in cancer treatment through targeted radiotherapy. Lanthanides possess radioactive isotopes that can be selectively targeted to cancer cells, delivering localized radiation therapy while minimizing damage to healthy tissues.
