About Titanium
Titanium is a chemical element with the chemical symbol Ti and atomic number 22. It is located in the fourth period and group IVB in the periodic table of chemical elements. It is a silver-white transition metal characterized by light weight, high strength, metallic luster, and resistance to wet chlorine corrosion. Titanium oxide (TiO2) is the most regular oxide for Ti.

Sputtering Titanium Dioxide
Sputtering is a widely used technique for depositing thin films of various materials, including metal oxides like TiO2. The sputtering process involves bombarding a target material with high-energy ions, which then eject atoms from the target material to form a thin film on a substrate. TiO2 sputter targets are typically made by powder metallurgy, where high-purity titanium dioxide powder is mixed with a binder material, pressed into a dense pellet, and sintered at high temperatures to form a solid target. The purity of TiO2 sputter targets is also an important consideration, as impurities can affect the quality and properties of the resulting thin films. High-purity TiO2 sputter targets, with purity levels of 99.99% or higher, are typically used for research and development applications.
Our Titanium Dioxide Sputter Targets
QSAM provide custom manufacturing for TiO2 sputter targets in short lead time with competitive price. Our small scale hot pressor provides the flexibility to make R&D level products with customized composition and stoichiometry.TiO2 sputter targets are available in various shapes and sizes, depending on the specific requirements of the sputtering deposition system. Common shapes include disks, rectangles, and rings, with thicknesses ranging from a few millimeters to several centimeters.TiO Ti2O3 and doped TiO2 materials are available. In the past years, QSAM has been supporting our university and national lab customers with custom TiO2 sputter targets in past years. Typical purity for TiO2 targets are 99.9% ~ 99.99%. Titanium Dioxide is a common material and a routinely made sputter target for us. The black one(O<2) lost some oxygen during the manufacturing, and have higher conductivity and density, while the white TiO2 is more accurate in stoichiometry.
